Impressions from Bunin's visit to the estate of his brother has formed the basis and has become the main motive of the story. This work deservedly considered as the pinnacle of writer's style. Story has repeatedly revised, syntax periods declined, removed some details, characterizing the passing to the past nobility -estates world, honed phrases, etc. The story opens describing a lovely early autumn. Author remembers early, fresh, quiet morning ... He remembers great, the whole gold, and dried off, thin out depleted garden, remember a maple alleys, delicate aroma of the fallen leaves and -- smell of antonovsky apples, smell of the honey and the freshness of the autumn. The air so clean, as if it absolutely absent, the entire garden is filled from a voices and screams of acarts ... And a cool silence of the morning violates only clucks of thrushes on coral mountain ashs in thicket songs...
